Color: Medium chamoisee with cream swiss markings

almost 3wks

Few days of age (littermate brother in background)

Few days old, before disbudding.

I am absolutely smitten with this AI daughter of Tempo Aquila Danziger (check out his PEDIGREE!) and Caprice Acres Elise. Elise is doing well as a 2nd fresh. At around 30d fresh she did over 10lbs, which I am quite pleased with. Hoping she continues to follow in her dams' footsteps production-wise. Her dams' last successful lactation was a very respectable 3650lbs despite a heavy parasite load early in the season. Danzigers' pedigree boasts many of the top does from the Tempo herd-  extreme LA scores AND production!  To top it all off, she has beautiful markings - She is both a regular chamoisee, but with the added delight of 'swiss' pattern (like a sundgau, but not black!) I don't breed for color but when it's pretty, its frosting on the cake. ;)

Selling this doeling was extremely tough but she's on to her new home now.

Spring 2011, 2YO,  5/31/11 (almost 3 months fresh). This picture angle doesn't show her rear udder very well. You can KINDA see it bulging out behind her legs.  It is very nicely attached, but as a FF doesn't have the depth of rear barrel she has developed as a mature doe.

FRESHENINGS:

DRY 2010 - Bungie was dry for the 2010 season.

FRESHENED 3/5/11 - Bungie kidded 3/5/11 with twin bucklings. Peaked at 10lbs/day.

FRESHENED 3/7/12 - Kidded 3/7/12 with twin bucklings AGAIN.  GRRRR! :) As of 6/4/12 she is giving about 13lbs of milk per day.

FRESHENED 6/4/13 - with triplets - 2 bucks, 1 doeling.

FRESHENED 3/3/14 - with Triplets - 2 Does, 1 buck!  Keeping the buckling (Disco Volante) and a doeling (Elise). Their sister has been sold to a great home. She easily produces over a gallon PER MILKING this year.

DRY 2015 - Was confirmed bred AI, but must have slipped kids in early pregnancy.  Open 2015.

2016 - confirmed bred but aborted ~5 weeks early.

After two years of abortions, I have opted to have Bungie euthanized and a necropsy performed to determine cause. She has cost us a lot in the two open years and at this point is most valuable to us with information. I am sad to see such an otherwise healthy and hard working doe go, but I cannot house her if she doesn't give back. I am thankful for the daughter and son I have from her last successful kidding. (Disco and Elise), and that there are also several 'grandkids' in the area as well.

12/4/15 - early necropsy results show she was healthy, but her uterus is not normal. Early results show no signs of infectious processes, which was my main concern. Final report was deposition of amyloid in the uterus, which is unusual but still not considered to be contagious, so that is very, very good news.

Kessa earned her star during her 2011 lactation!

2012 DHIR infoKessa WAS on test for 2012 but I scrambled to do milk tests and messed up the testing schedule royally so I had them mark her down as 'dry' for the rest of the year. She is still milking, but I couldn't handle milk test this year. I'll try again when I have some young does that need to earn their stars. :)

This is my 'third time's the charm' doe kid. FINALLY a daughter out of Grace-Hill Magnolia! She had given me twin bucks in 2011, 2012 - and then two MORE bucks in 2013 in addition to this gorgeous solid black doeling, which I decided needed to be named PATIENCE! :)

DHIR

2014 DHIR info

5/31/14 - 4.3lbs - freshened as an 11 month FF, and I induced her to kid and I believe she was not hormonally ready to lactate as I  believe she was at least 5-6 days earlier than what she would have kidded naturally. Her udder has developed a LOT since freshening and her production has increased.

7/26/14 - 5.5lbs - ME is 2084lbs.

Jan 2014 - 224DIM, 1022lbs, 2.6%prot, 3.9%fat. (27lbs prot, 40lbs fat. ) ME milk = 1963lbs. Dried off after this test, so she did not have a 305d lactation.

BREEDINGS:

Bred to Waylon for 2012 kids! Due 3/6/12!

Kidding History
Has not kidded yet.

Bronwyn passed away 1/20/12 to Listeria.  Initially diagnosted on 1/14/12, treated with Oxytetracycline 200mgs/ml, thiamine (in case it was polio), and banamine for pain/inflamation.  She was not 100%, but on 1/19 she was even hard to catch for her daily shots.  On 1/20 she was discovered laying by the hay bale, she may have been there overnight.  Different vet saw her, still Listeria diagnosis.  Gave shot of Nuflor gold, 2 Meloxicam tabs (like banamine), dextrose for energy.  He said he couldn't get a good temp - I took it when I got home and she read out at 95% (should be 102-103*...)  Hot water bottles, blankets, and heaps of straw were used to try to get her temp up. She started drooling later that day (classic listeriosis symptom) and she died around 9:00pm on 1/20  in my arms after seisuring.

She had 1.5 months to go in her first pregnancy.

--------------------------

I decided to keep Paisley's 2012 doe kid for a brood doe. Because I like my kids tame, I pulled her and put her on the bottle. Paisley intially had no idea what to do with her kids, but she raised her twins just fine once she figured it out after bonding with them. I pulled the doeling off at a few days shy of a week old, simply to keep her tame. Paisley is still raising her brother. To be honest, Paisley's son is SUPER friendly, so maybe I could have left them both on her no problem. They were the first kids born to a tame boer here, so that helps a lot. :D I'm a worry wort and I wanted to be SURE she was tame - I'm about sick of chasing wild boers to be honest. :)

Dixie is everybody's favorite of the bottle babies this year. She is smaller than the alpines by a pound or so, and has the droopy ears - my dad calls her the 'beagle'. :D She's super cute.  She's got her sire's lungs on her - always voicing her displeasure when she sees or hears people and she's not with them.
